Our first meeting gives us an opportunity to learn more about you, your experiences, the specific difficulties you are facing and how they are currently affecting you. Because we are all unique individuals the idea is to get an understanding of you as a whole person and not to define you by said difficulties.
The aim will be to understand together what is most important for you and what you want to focus on e.g. what are the source(s) of your difficulties? What is the impact and cost to you? And what do you want to be different?
We will collaboratively look at how you want to work together, your expectations and your preferences. It is also an opportunity to decide together what are the next steps you would like to take regarding counselling.
