Relationship Therapy
What is Relationship/Couples Therapy?
Relationship therapy offers a supportive space to explore and improve how you relate to one another whether you’re in a romantic partnership, co-parenting, navigating a chosen family, or part of a non-traditional relationship structure. When communication breaks down or dynamics become challenging, an independent therapist can help everyone involved understand what’s happening and look at ways to resolve the issues negatively impacting the relationship.

Many relationships begin with attraction, shared values, and a strong connection. Over time as individuals grow and change differences can emerge, and finding balance isn’t always easy. Some challenges are a natural part of being in a relationship and can be managed without therapy. Other issues may feel more complex, persistent, or emotionally charged. In these situations, therapy can offer clarity, perspective, and practical tools to help you move forward.

Relationship therapy can support communication, trust, conflict resolution, emotional connection, or simply creating space to grow and strengthen your relationship. You don’t have to wait for a crisis, relational therapy can be a proactive step toward a more connected and fulfilling relationship.

Whatever challenges you’re facing, relationship therapy provides a space for reflection, clarity, and growth individually and together. With support, it’s possible to reconnect, communicate more effectively, and build a relationship that feels meaningful and sustainable for everyone involved.
Relationships need space and time
Depending on your lifestyle and circumstances such as work, parenting, caregiving, and the everyday demands of life can leave little time to nurture the relationships that matter most. Over time, unresolved issues can build up, leading to distance, conflict, or even crisis. Without space to reflect and communicate openly, misunderstandings and emotional distance can grow sometimes to a breaking point.
Relationship therapy offers the time and focus to slow down, listen, and speak honestly without the distractions of daily life in a space that’s grounded in empathy and curiosity, not judgment.

What to expect
In our first meeting, we’ll take time to understand you and your relationship, and the specific challenges you're facing in your relationship as well as what works well. This session helps me to get to know you and your relational dynamic.
Together, we will discuss what’s most important for you to focus on, whether that’s identifying the source of your struggles, understanding their impact on your relationship, or deciding what changes you would like to see. We will also explore the best way forward, tailored to the needs of your relationship.

We will discuss how you want to work together, your expectations, and any preferences you have for the process. By the end of this session, we’ll agree on the next steps for your relationship therapy journey.
